Overview

Biotage Horizon environmental sample preparation consumables
This document highlights the Biotage Horizon range of sample preparation consumables for environmental water samples.

Biotage Horizon SmartPrep automated cartridge extraction system
The Biotage Horizon SmartPrep cartridge system is designed for simple automation of manual solid phase extraction (SPE) methods. Just like manual SPE, up to 12 samples per SmartPrep system can be run in one batch, using the same or different methods for each of the 12 samples. Walk away and let your samples run unattended with confidence.

Biotage Horizon 5000 automated extraction system
The Horizon 5000 automated extraction system is a programmable, multipurpose SPE system, capable of processing aqueous samples directly from their original containers. Once the process is initiated, each module delivers all the necessary solvents to precondition the sorbent material within the SPE disk, passes the water sample through the disk and, after a preset air-dry time, extracts the sorbed analytes from the disk into a collection vessel using the required amounts of solvents.

Determination of endocrine disrupting hormones in drinking and wastewater
The data from this study demonstrates that the Horizon technology fully-automated extraction, drying and concentration systems used with the Atlantic HLB SPE disk are capable of the detection of selected hormones, resulting in data that is both accurate and precise.

Analysis of wastewater samples using disk SPE following US EPA method 608.3
This work demonstrates the use of SPE disks on wastewater samples using automation to provide control and consistency in all the steps in the extraction process, including conditioning the disk, loading the water sample, rinsing the sample bottle and eluting the sample in solvent.

Automated SPE of PAH compounds using the Horizon 5000
This work describes the evaluation of three different disk media type to better understand the performance of each for a wide range of PAH compounds. The media evaluated includes C18 high-capacity, DVB and HLB-M.

Automated SPE and GC-MS analysis of tap water samples according to EN 16693:2015 for organochlorine pesticides
This note demonstrates the performance of automated disk-based solid phase extraction (SPE) for concentration of organochlorine pesticides from whole water, prior to GC-MS analysis, following the requirements of EN16693:2015.
